We will have a very important meeting on SATURDAY at 1 PM at the Days Inn in Batavia. If you are interested in racing this year this is the meeting to attend. We have much to discuss before the season starts. See you on SATURDAY.

Who cares about NASCAR. Some people work on saturday like carsalesmen. When was it desided that we would move the meeting? It has been posted as the 14th since the first meeting. Just frustrated because I wanted to come to this one since I couldn't make the jan meeting. AARRRRG.

Adam, the decision to have the meeting on a saturday was not made by one person. It was voted and approved by the general membership. I feel your pain and will try to keep you and everyone informed of what transpires. TO ALL MEMBERS. I cannot be strong enough in my message that these meetings are very important as decisions are made that effect the organization and our race program especially in these trying times. You have a voice in decision making. its your responsibility to make your voice heard!

At the same time, the more of the information we can get out through the forums the better off we are. There are probably more people like Adam who can't make the meeting, as well as some potential new entrants who won't bother to make the drive without some up-front info on what's going to be discussed.

Great idea Craig. An agenda for the meeting might give the people like me who can't make it atleast a chance to voice their opinion.

OK Gentlemen, on the agenda are the usual club business items plus we need to discuss the schedule, we need to finalize the tire situation, we need to find more participants for the cavalcade of cars show and I would like to start discussion on how to bring in new racers. We need to share new ideas. I hope this will be the last meeting before race day.

Well I think it might be a good idea to aproach AJ's Grand Prix and maybe do some advetising there. I can't think of a better way to get in front of people who are interested in karting. Perhaps we could do free advertising on our site for free advertising on their's. Also Maybe we do some sort of exibition races at Holland or Lancaster. People who race or go to races would be more interested than people walking the mall or at a hotrod show(just my opinion not fact). If I think of anything else I will post it here as should any member who is not going to make it to the meeting.

I would second doing something that gets karts in motion in front of people, even if they're just demonstration runs. Maybe we could get a bunch of us to run an autocross or two on off weekends?

I think we should look into a race in a town somewhere- Lancaster is a possible option- does anybody know any of the mayors of these small village-y places?

my apologies for not being able to make the meeting due to my current lack of transportation issue.
As for the AJ's idea. I was over there Friday night and they are willing to work with us to cross promote our separate venues. Details will be worked out in the future, I left some of our club brochures with them to hand out when people ask about local racing. You will see their banner on the site soon.
I will be getting in touch with the people that run the "old homes days" event in Williamsville to see if a race is possible. Thanks for the reminder It had slipped my mind.

From the last meeting, We have four karts going into the Cavalcade of cars show to promote the BKC and karting. I am looking for a jr kart to put on display. Mike Schlager will be an anternate if no jr karts are availble.
We will race in the rain at Avon. Its foolish to haul all that way not to race so, we will race. The club will subsidize up to 100 dollars for entry fees if there is not at least five racers. If there is less than five the racers will need to discuss if they want to pay more to meet the minimum required for the track. Rick Hoyt will check with Cherry Valley on their rain policy. There is no racing in the rain at Bliss.
The annual family picnic will be in conjuction with the race at Bliss on the Sunday of the chicken BBQ.
The burris 55a tire will be the only tire allowed from the first race of the season. The BKC will be a distributor of tires and an order form will be forthcomming.( Mike is having a bit of difficulty getting it to work). He wil get it sorted out.
The burris tire is required for all classes except jr1 and shifter.
it was decided that anyone who wants to race with the BKC as a non-member will pay 15 dollars more than a member in good standing.
There will be a perfect attendence award of 25 points to any member who races all ten events. Along with that any racer who competes in any club event will have their name added for a special drawing for a grand prize to be awarded at the banquet.
It was decided to drop the PO box. its not worth 122 dollars a year for five peices of junk mail.
many things were discussed and we will have a price list for all the venues as all three are diffrent.
We are invited to race at oakland valley in Cuddleback NY. This will be a non points race and an overnighter. more information is forthcomming.
there was discussion on other venues, dunn tire park wants 800 dollars to open the gate on Sunday morning. A race in a parking lot is an insurance nightmare unless its underwritten by a large group. We will check on holland speedway to see if its feasable.
Beleive me, a lot of work as gone into making this season happen. We think its going to be not only different but fun. with only ten races scheduled at this time racing your kart should be an "event"
