In spite of the rain in the morning we decided to go to the track and along with the hearty members in attendance we put on the show with some great racing. We ran on slicks all afternoon. we even had time for Bob to sell a few dogs. Once the award ceremony was over the heavens opened up but everyone was just about packed up at that point. Just because it looks bad we can put on a show. everyone lended a hand and we raced without problems. Imagine how much better it could have been if you were there!

So don't post your not going and then change your mind after we log off....

We need to do something. I didn't come because of the poor attendance last week. If I knew more people were coming I would have come out. Perhaps a saturday night post for commitment this way rain or shine we know who will be there. If I know that people will be there rain or shine then I will be there.

If The weather is so bad we can't race, a sunday 8am post from our club president might also work.

I'm there rain or shine for the rest of the Summer series at least. I figure since I don't have rain tires, if we do have a rain race I can at least be a flagger/etc.

...I was there at 9:00 A.M sweeping/leaf blowing the ponds on the track and then spinning laps to dry it out so everyone else could practice safely.

I think something needs to be done about low attendence. I can't keep loosing money because everyone is scared to race in the rain. Kart racing has always been rain or shine. I have not made enough in the last month on club race days to cover my insurance costs. We have only averaged 8 karts per race the last month.

Sunday is race day!!! Some are hot,some are cold,and some are wet.As a club we need participants,not only to race but also for a track support crew.Mike L had the right idea.He was ready to race and if that was not feasible he was ready to help support the effort.Excellent!!

To invest $3-5000+ and then NOT add another few hudred dollars in wet gear and miss out on most of the summer's racing doesn't make any sense. I didn't come out this past Sunday because of what happened the week before. Less than half a field showed up and then turned around and went home.

I think we should get some help from the people from Bliss because they are really organized and have a good program. I figure whats the worst that can happen.

OK, lets get something straight. I don't haul out to the track to cancel the program and not turn a wheel. Its just to damn expensive. We have rain tires and water we eventually dry out. the problem is the lack of people to run the program especially in the rain. Two weeks ago we could have run the WF class but there would be no corner workers and in a rain condition its just to dangerous. As this clubs president I don't make the decision to race or not. That decision was made by members in attendance. Dave is correct! Sunday is race day rain or shine. If you don't have a set of rains look on the internet and grab a set cheap.
this passed Sunday we tried really hard to get the show in between the rain and to everyones delight we were sucessful. Again there was a consensious by everyone in attendance to give it a try and we had some great racin. I wish I had the power to make it a triple point race because I would have. triple points for perserverance. Jim P

Garrett, I hope your kidding. the program at Bliss is organized confusion. God forbid you had a problem there as there is no time to make any real repairs. The only things that slows the program down is the red flags to discipline the drivers and to clean up the carnage after a heat race.

Ya your right about that but im not sayin we should rush through the program I was just talking about how they get so many people each week.
