New member here, thinking of getting my kids into karting. Used to run a margay concept kart with a MC 91 engine way back when.
How are the 2 cycle classes? particulary the TK100's (Yamaha)? I'm not a 4 cycle guy (don't mean to offend) just don't like the sound and lack of power. I guess I just like the noise and excitement of the 2-cycles.
Are there many participants in the junior class? or does the 4-cycle classes rule?
Any how, will be bringing my newly refurbished Margay and MC91 out for my kids to try and maybe get some excitemt myself on Tuesday soon.
well i can tell u that there is no 2 cycle class anymore. me and my dad where the only ones running 2 cycles and we finally had to give in and get a 4 cycle just so that there is some competition.
When Jesse and i decided to go sprint racing at batavia we wanted to go 2 cycle racing ,So i stopped at bills and he stated that there weren't alot of 2 cycle guys around.
Kinda bummed out we started to get our 4 cycle stuff together(secretly looking for a kt yammy to run). But after going to cherry valley to race i'm glad we didn't simple reason, why would i spend more money to go slower.
ANIMAL MOTOR BOX STOCK 550.00 WITH PIPE.
less maintenance.
reliable.
For the junior classes at batavia it is a affordable package.
I don't think the cherry valley guys with the can motors liked getting passed by a kid with a animal.I have nothing against 2 strokes, want to own a tag someday. But for now me and jesse will have fun at batavia racing against the other 5 or 6 in his class.
well i really wouldnt say that the kt 100 are slower than the animals or even the formula's because we can go as fast if not faster than the the formulas with yamaha's.
lol, we'll b out there. where gonna try to get out there this weekend actually, well hopefully. we just got a formula so where finnaly gonna be running wit u guys. but next year where probably gonna really try to get out there alot.
i kept telling him that he had to call u back but he was always forgetting to.but where going out there right now and try to get our kart set-up so we can finally race.
