The day started ominus with low clouds and sprinkles. Arriving at the track In Avon I was the first one there for a long time before another racer drove thru the gates. The first peactice session was on wets. I wish the rain kept falling cause it was a blast to drive in the rain but the skies lightened and the track dried and everyone changed back to slicks. We got two heat races in the books and then the heavens opened up. It didn't look like the rain was slowing so the Avon club called their race program. The BKC took no time to switch back to rain tires and setups. As the rain fell the accompanying thunder and lighting made an appearence. The entire contingent of Batavia racers waited patiently under the grid covering for the thunder to go away. It was determined that after almost an hour we made an executive decision to call the program. We need to find a way to control the weather. A special thank you goes out to Avons President Bill Glitch and his group for sticking with us. Mother Nature always has the best equipment and is hard to beat as she whooped all of us.
