Sorry about that, Races should start around noon. I am not sure when racing will end? It will depend on how many classes will be run. I am not sure if they stay open for practice after the race schedule has been run.

I really have no idea! Jim S is starting with 4.118 17/70. There is 1 really slow corner and I am not sure how long the longest straight is. I am going with a 15/63. Ross tried a 17/77 but it was hard on the rev limiter. I have your 73-219, I will bring it sat.

The BKC did it self proud by bringing a dozen karts and crews to Cherry valley. The track is very technical with a nice mix of low and high speed corners, brakes are very important. Our track is a higher speed circuit and is equal in bumps. Just about everyone scrambled for the correct gear. Unfortunatly we missed the boat and did not have the gear sets we needed. Everyone at the track was super friendly and Phil the very perky starter and announcer will be remembered long after the racing is forgotten.
I squeezed my fat body into my kart to take the start. I'd like to say I ran away with it but.. I was a little rusty afer twenty plus years out of the seat. My arms cramped up and my back is sore and now my shoulder hurts but it was still a lot of fun.
Mike Poluzzi, Jim simpson and Jessie Johnston had the set up and scored wins. As a side note Randy Johnston was tracking lap times and it seems our Jr 3 class was faster than their yamaha can class.
As with all motorsports they are having low kart counts but It sure is a fun place to test your driving skills. I hope a few of the regular drivers take a ride to Batavia and join us Sunday. Make plans to visit this venue next season, its worth the ride!

Yes, well worth the trip. Vary much a rhythm track. A few more places to pass than one might think.

Lets hope they get a good contingency to come to Batavia.

We had a great time at cherry valley, the track was very fast, and it was great racing with garret, nic and ricky. The people there were very friendly too.
I was surprised when our class turned out to be faster then the cans.
Looking forward to this Sunday.

THANKS JESSE

Ricky & I had a great day of racing at Cherry Valley! It was fun negotiating our karts on a different track. We are looking forward to returning to our "home' track of course! See you Sunday!

I can't wait to go back! The track was very challenging, well maintained and Phil the race director was very energetic, responsive, empathetic and well-spoken when it came to dealing with on-track altercations immediately after the karts came off the track to avoid things spilling over into the pits.

OK, we went to cherry Valley and had a good time but I'm a little pissed. I thought this was to be a home and home series. I know Rick Hoyt did a outstanding job arranging this series but it seems it became a one sided affair. No one from that track showed up on a beautiful Sunday to race with us. Yes I'd like to go back next year but different arrangments will need to be made. Sorry to vent but its not fair to our members and organization or Bob.

Hi Folks,

I talked with Joe at Cherry Valley. There was a mix up between him and Jason (his son) as to Cherry Valley karters going to Batavia.

Communication is a wonderful tool.

Anyway, I do believe that the Cherry Valley folks will show up at Batavia this year, possibly an October date, I don't know.

Joe needs to get in touch with you guys and work it out, and I believe he will do that eventually. He does intend to live up to his part of the bargain, so be patient and hopefully it will all work out just fine.

Although etiquette would dictate that it is his turn to contact you guys, I say don't stand on ceremony and feel free to contact him before he contacts you if you want.

I will say that he is not the greatest at returning calls in a timely fashion, although he does get to it eventually. I have no excuses for that method, but that is how it works sometimes.

Otherwise he really is a great guy to deal with. Give him a chance if you can.

Casey

Good advice Casey. We need all the kart enthusiast we can get these day's. As you can read we all had a good time and want to keep the relationship going. I will give Joe a call this week and try and work out some details. (Batavia race first) Next season is not far away and it would be great to get a head start for next year.
