After going back and looking at our race day schedule and realizing it states:
"Gates open: 8:30am", the importance of what I had said during the driver's meeting really hit home.

I made it a point to get out to Cherry Valley early last Saturday since it was a new track to me and I wanted to get registered, pitted and walk the track without being rushed in the morning. I would assume several other BKC'ers were thinking the same thing...

...Even if no one from Cherry Valley made the trek to Batavia "because they think they're too good for us" or for more logical reasons like I would beleive to be true; The possibility was there that they showed up around 8:30am and no one was there. That's really dissapointing for a race day where we were expecting a visiting track.

It's bad enough one of our own members showed up early, waited around for a while and drove 45min. all the way home thinking that the race was a lock-out due to the current situation with the track ownership.

I rolled-in at 8:52 and found the place a ghost town, but knew better than to leave since I had been in the same situation too many times so far this season waiting for someone to show up and unlock the gates at 9:00 or slightly after.

We may as well change the schedule to read "Gates open: 9:00am" and stick to it.
