I want to thank the members and guests who attended the January meeting and help make important dicisions. Over the next few months you will see a few changes for the better. I am very pleased to announce the reinstitution of the officers for another year. Thank you for putting your trust in us. The web page will be overhauled making it easier to log on and navigate. The burris tires will be the tire to race on this year. We will be testing another brand this summer. We are scheduled to appear in two shows to promote karting and this organization. Everyone associated with karting should benefit. There are a few new rules updates and I will post them in a seperate post so you can read them. The 2012 race schedule is being compiled and as soon as the other tracks post theirs we will publish ours. This season of racing should be fun and exciting with a new track added. As soon as updates are available I will post them.
The BKC dues will remain the same and we are accepting your 2012 dues now. The next general meeting will be on April 8th at the Days Inn.

Jim, I don't think we settled on someone to take notes at the meetings. I will take that on going forward.

sorry i couldnt make the meeting, and am slightly disappointed that my testing of the decuzzi tire doesnt make the case as the burris test (wich was done by will & peter k who has not raced with us)did.im further offended that people think i have some personnel agenda other than the cost & longevity of the tire.at least i wont take heat if some people didnt like it....but i still think it is a superior tire to the burris.as far as the other rumblings,i hope we dont become like some series where they penalize hard work(race wins)with rule changes during the season!!

OK here is the main reason for the decision to go with Burris tires again. The following information was unavailable during the meeting.
The DeCuzzi tires have a durometer reading of 56
The Burris 55's are rated at a durometer reading of 62
For this reason the tires could not coexist during the same season.
I for one have no problems in a tire change which benefits the club members by saving money. The problem lies in there was no actual back to back TIMED test sessions for us to see the exact amount of lap time drop off from one heat cycle to the next. As was done with the Burris tires. Bill has put numerous laps on the set he purchased and the tread life is excellent. BUT with out actual timed sessions there is no way to tell if they fall off more or less than the Burris 55's
I am told there are different compounds available but they are not on there web site.
I hope this clears up any questions that might have been brought up after the meeting.

I wasnt advocating for them to coexist, but to replace. When we tested the burris tires we were testing compounds for wear, as we knew YHC's were costly. They were tested back to back, and im not sure we cared about times. (Not multiple heat cycles) . I realize the Ducuzzi's only come in 7.10's, but is it a bad thing to standerize size up the ladder? Also remember we raced on B-44's which have a duro. of 54 to 56. Dont know about anyone else but to save $35 a set times 3, can almost get a forth set free. Also i believe they are a better tire for what we are doing.( cost effective) my guess is these may last the entire season and stay competitive i would like to see a vote among drivers which one to choose, we don't owe burris anything do we? we certainly arnt getting a smokin deal. another thing i ran these tires in 10 practices and then will ran them in a yam pipe race(20 lap feature. i truly believe they are superior tires
