Some of my fondest motorsports memories are of riding a dirt bike in the pouring rain and driving home covered in mud, but that was 35 years ago and the thought of getting soaked has less appeal now. I fully intended to make the last 2 races, but at 6:00 am decision time on both days the rain was pelting the bedroom window so I backed out. I figured if I missed a few more races it would give the rest of you a chance to catch up to me in the points. By the way, I didn't check the website and went to Beaver Run, so I figure I won that race by forfeit.
I had a great time racing with you guys this season and I'll try to make the banquet. If not, I'll see you in the spring.
i know the feeling bout the rain. I ve seen your improvement this year & know you ll be a contender next year, keep it up! by the way,did you get on that track?(beaver run)it is awesome.!!!!!!!Avon is highly technical in comparison, but slow !!!
I didn't go on the track at Beaver Run. I would have been a trembling bundle of nerves, but what a beautiful facility! I watched the karts and the autocross for a while. I'd love to get my little Lotus on the car road course. My wife went with me. We have friends in Pittsburgh that we haven't seen in a couple of years and I got to spend more time with them than I would have if we raced, so the trip wasn't for naught.
I just got the call from the head banquet facilitator and he tells me we are all set for December 8th. Please mark your calendar. More info will be coming shortly.
