It seems like the core group of BKC members made the trip to Cherry Valley to race in the sunshine. To be honest I was a bit disappointed in the turnout for this scheduled race. I know you have the equipment but I can't understand why you don't want to use it. We were greeted with smiling faces in the morning as the teams prepped for practice which went on without difficulties. Although the track was ground down in select areas it is still a rough drive but fun. Since we did not have any Jr drivers all the WF classes ran together. The first heat started wonderfully until my chain broke on the first lap. This seemed to start a trend as chain and gear problems plagued a few more. Mr Simpson could not start the feature race as gear issues reared its ugly head and Will was running third in the Tag class when the axle shifted and popped the chain. I realize that we all have a million things to do through the summer but the race schedule is short and winter is long. If you get away from it you may never come back and you know that driving a kart in anger is a blast. If you have mechanical or setup problems with your kart, feel free to call me and I'll see if I can be of assistance. See you at Avon.
Sorry, I haven't made a race yet this season. My job has been ruining my life. I've been working about 65 hours a week - and I'm salaried so I don't get paid for it. I just got some help, so hopefully that will free up some time for karting. The other day, a deer jumped out in front of my truck. It's in the body shop now and sounds like a 50:50 chance it will be finished for this Sunday's race. I have to look at the calendar, but I'll be out of town 3 weekends in a row at the end of July and first weekend in August, so I'm sure I'll miss at least one race in there. Summer is just way too short.
