Noticed tonight that the movie "Senna" is now available on Netflix streaming, in HD and 5.1 surround if you're using a PS3. If you haven't seen it, it's definitely worth a watch, both for the good and the bad.

I'll get a copy on this on Blu-Ray once there is a US release, in case anybody wants to come over and watch it.

Just watched it again- first time I've watched since summer. Very pleased to actually get subtitles in the Portuguese.

Two points that really stuck out- Senna stupidly arguing with JYS about safety, and his win at Interlagos in '91. On the podium,you realize he stopped looking like a kid, and (now) knowing what happened at Imola in '94, you could see the sport was destroying him...he goes from a gawky kid to looking, well, old...and the transition is startling...that, to me, came across as more depressing than the end at Imola.

It was even better the second time.

Thanks for the heads up on that jeff. i missed it when it came to the theater here in rochester I had always been an indy car guy at that time. I missed a lot of his career and the politics in f1 at that time. Can't wait to see it.

Wow, just watched it on Netflix..and all i can say is wow. New all time greatest movie. It really captured his progress in formula one quite well. And yes Jeff i noticed it too, how the first couple years he seemed to be a fresh new addition, and by his 3rd year you could see the physical and mental change he was going through. I would recommend anyone who has a motorsport interest to watch this movie, 5 stars!

For some reason, the BR and DVD release was delayed in the states, it was supposed to be released in November 2011. Looks like April 2012. I'll definitely pick it up then, and if anybody would like to borrow, the offer is open

That's correct but the Portuguese speech will not have English subtitles...90% of the non-English is Portuguese.

Rick, that's an interesting point that could have been covered better in the film, although obviously it wasn't the focus. I was just getting into F1 at the time and was just a kid, but I always remember the political side of the sport playing a big role with Balestre eventually being forced out. Mosely seemed like the savior, and ultimately was more of the same crap, just a different decade.
