Hey guys,

Last year 5 of us road guys went down to Bliss, NY and raced our karts on the 1/7 mile D shape Oval. It was a REAL BLAST!!! Who wants to take our karts down and show them again how good we road guys are? Maxx and I went to Bliss last Saturday and talk with the owner (and ran a ton of laps). He would be happy to have us come again.

When I look at the Bliss schedule and ours I have 4 dates we might be able to do!

what kinds of kart were you running and what kind of speeds did you get at that track??

i could be very interested, i have a 125 shifter. what vehicles do they usually race on that track?? whats the name of it?

We ran our World Formula Karts. I'm not sure how fast we where going. It's a 1/7 mile and lap times where in the 12 second range. We just ran our normal setup, but if we go again we should run 17/76 gear to get into our rev limit.

I think it would be way too small for your shifter though. They run an Oval Chassis which is offset, with flat head motors on Methanol. They push about 15HP and run 11" tires on the right side and 4.5" on the left.

Thanks for looking into that Ross, I really had a great time. I have to check on those dates but I should be able to make at least one maybe two.

12 seconds??? holy crap that thing really is small! guess i should have done the math on 1/7th mile before. so the straights are maybe 200' long max?

Yes on the Animal, BUT we need to make sure you have 6 entry's MINIMUM!!!

Sounds interesting, what about July 5-6 at Beaverun in Pa. I know it a bit of a trip but it is an exceptional facility.And camping is reasonable. Shifters also have a class down there.

I like the idea. if were up to me I'd pick June 6th. were off on that Sunday and The forth of july won't work. I'll bring the two WF karts and the animal if we get a few others.

I got the ok for June 6th if we can get enough racers. I can also bring rick's kart if the juniors are coming. It was a good day Sunday, lets hope for more good weather and lots of karts. Thanks also to Brian Mosher for spending an Avon off day with us. Maybe we can return the favor.

Just to set the record "strait" , the race dates are in JULY not June as the first half of Jim's reply started off the confusion with.

I think it's safe to assume that Rick's message about getting the OK for "June 6" was merely a goof resulting from your original half-erroneous post, since you mentioned that "were off that SUNDAY and The forth of july won't work" and Friday June 6 is only a practice day.

It would be a good idea to start a new thread with a title related to the Beaverun trip for JULY 6 to hopefully get more people interested since it's currently buried in this post about Oval Racing.
