At the meeting on Sunday, I bought up that we might want to make our JR class rules conform with that of Genesse Valley's rules since we won't be runnign at Batavia. I then volunteered to get the input from the other parents of kids in the JR classes.

On the surface, I think the costs to conform is minor and it will provide the kids from both clubs bigger fields, a more even playing field and more competition. They run a different pipe and a spec clutch which I understand is very cheap (less than $50). The also allow a choice of a few different tires.

I propose that we confirm our JR classes to those of GVKC. What do you think?

They run 4 Jr classes - two similar to ours and two WKA classes

Jr Animal (sealed) Red plate ages 8-10 - 250 lbs
Jr Animal (sealed) Gold plate ages 10-15 - 275 lbs

WKA Jr Animal Gold plate (.505) ages 10-12 - 275 lbs
WKA Jr Animal Blake plate ages 12-15 - 320 lbs

They run Dunlop SL4, Bidgestone YHC or Buris 55 tires

If the clutch is the Noram GE series they are $65-$72 from APS

Based on a quick search it looks like $65 from an ebay vendor.

As for a vendor to provide a discount, I could ask Jim Lipari of Coyote. So far it is just you and me, and that doesn't yield a lot of buying power!

As far as I know, Adam's Dad said they were planning on runnign National events vs the club this year.

Do we know who is running in Jr this year?

Please chime in if your child is running Jrs this year as so far I think we only have Michael and Payton? Based on their repsective ages, I think they are in seperate classes this year. If that is the case, I plan to build Mike's kart to the GKC's rules for motor, weight, clutch, exhaust and tires.

Let me know before I spend money.

Hi everybody. We are taking the plunge. Adam is running in the WKA Gold Cup Nationals in the junior 1 sportsman light and heavy classes this year. Our first race is in 3 weeks at Carolina Motorsports Park. We were sad to hear that Batavia is not running this year. Adam really enjoyed racing there, and we both made some new friends along the way. But it is time to move on. Besides, Batavia is closed, and we are barred from Avon for life! I do have an offer for the club. Specifically for the juniors. I have 8 very good Bridgstone slicks and 1 Avon legal clutch that we have no use for now.
